Clean a Small Area of Skin: Choose a small, discreet area of skin, like the inside of your wrist or elbow. Clean the area gently with water and mild soap.

  1. Apply a Small Amount of Product: Take a small amount of the product you’re testing and apply it to the cleaned area. For products like creams, oils, or salves, use just a pea-sized amount.

  2. Cover the Area (Optional): You can cover the area with a bandage or a piece of gauze, especially if you’re testing something that might be exposed to friction or moisture.

  3. Wait 24 Hours: Allow the product to sit for at least 24 hours. During this time, avoid washing the area or applying other products on top of it.

  4. Observe for Reactions: Check the test area for any signs of irritation, redness, itching, swelling, or discomfort. If you experience any of these symptoms, remove the product immediately and wash the area with mild soap and water.

  5. If No Reaction: If there are no negative reactions after 24 hours, the product should be safe to use on a larger area. If you’re ever uncertain, or if you have sensitive skin, consult with a healthcare provider before use.
